CarDS Lab welcomes Dr. Philip Croon!

We are pleased to welcome Philip Croon, MD, who joins the Cardiovascular Data Science Lab (CarDS-Lab) as an Associate Research Scientist.

Philip is a medical doctor and data scientist driven by a passion for using technology to enhance patient care. Until recently, he was a PhD candidate at Amsterdam UMC. Since September 2025, he has continued his research at CarDS-Lab. He graduated cum laude with a Master of Medicine degree from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. His doctoral research in cardiology focuses on implementing and evaluating AI-powered solutions in clinical practice. At CarDS-Lab, his work centers on integrating artificial intelligence into cardiology to advance diagnostics and treatment.

As an entrepreneur, Philip founded two companies—MediMaat B.V. and DGTL Health B.V.—serving as CEO of both. Under his leadership, the companies achieved key milestones and were successfully acquired. Through DGTL Health, he led the delivery of over 60,000 AI-assisted Holter readings and reports across multiple European countries. By combining his clinical expertise with strengths in data science and healthcare innovation, Philip is now dedicated to optimizing and deploying AI-ECG technologies to advance cardiology practice and improve patient outcomes.
