Greg Holste

PhD Candidate

Greg is a 2nd-year PhD student in Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) at the University of Texas at Austin. He is advised by Prof. Atlas Wang, and co-advised by Dr. Rohan Khera. His research involves developing computer vision and deep learning techniques for clinical decision-making and medical image analysis problems. He is a 2023 recipient of the NSF Graduate Research Fellowship, 2021 recipient of the Tolbert Endowed Scholarship in ECE, and his work has been published in venues such as IEEE Transactions on Medical Imaging and workshops at conferences such as ICCV, ICML, and MICCAI.

At CarDS Lab, Greg has focused on developing automated methods for detecting aortic stenosis on 2D transthoracic echocardiography. He is interested in how multi-view echocardiographic data can be integrated with other modalities, such as electrocardiography and electronic health records, to improve automated cardiovascular health monitoring.
